Appear Works offers conferences, workshops, professional development, and publications aimed at fostering safe and supportive environments for diversity and inclusion in tech. The founder Marlena Compton and I are old coworkers from three(!) separate companies, so when she started up her own business I was thrilled when she asked me to help create their new brand. Unapologetically feminine in a male-dominated industry, the logo is designed to call forth allies who may recognize themselves in its sloping curves and bold colors. The art direction welcomes folks to come forward and take the mic.
